SURVIAC information resources are maintained in computerized databases, original reports, and in computer-indexed reference libraries. SURVIAC databases contain thousands of items that span detailed combat incidents, damage repair and maintenance information and sophisticated system and subsystem test data. Additions are made continually to stay abreast of recent technology developments and to keep pace with community needs. The most recent technical scope expansion is Homeland Security (HLS). SURVIAC has already started building our technical resources - libraries, data and expertise - to address HLS.

Meanwhile, SURVIAC continues to expand its data resources pertaining to non-nuclear survivability and lethality as applicable to present and projected aeronautical and surface targets and threats.

Libraries maintained by SURVIAC include:

Survivability/Vulnerability (S/V) Reference Library
The Survivability/Vulnerability Reference Library is an extensive collection of reports, studies, analyses and raw data covering air and surface vehicle survivability, maintenance, logistics, and military operations. Current Survivability/Vulnerability library expansion initiatives include the development and growth of specialized data collections in the areas of aircraft fire extinguishing materials and aircraft Battle Damage Repair.

There are currently 14,423 items available for perusal in this library. Approximately 125 documents are received each month for screening for this library, and approximately 100 are entered into the library each month. The Defense Remote On-Line System is accessed on a regular basis for new acquisitions for the library. Many reports for entry also come from various tri-Service organizations and contractors that have SURVIAC on automatic distribution for the reports they generate.

LASER Reference Library (LASERLIB)
Defense Remote On-Line System (DROLS) accessions are perused for the latest information for inclusion into this library as well as any automatic distribution documents that deal in the area of test, R&D, and directed energy weapon information. There are currently 1,964 items available in this library. Vehicle Signatures Library
The Vehicle Signature Reference Library is a collection of reports and data on the specialized subject of air, land, and sea vehicle signatures. The collection concentrates on radar cross section data, but includes such other signature data as infrared and acoustic.
